Complex artwork. The design features gradients, photographic detail, or more than four colors.
Setup savings. High color counts make traditional screen-print setup uneconomical.

Limitations of puff DTF.

Lift and hand-feel trade-offs

Puff DTF caps at 1 to 2 mm lift, which is lower than 3D puff. Also, the expanding foam base adds thickness under the color layer, so it feels firmer than standard flat DTF.
Per-piece cost rises above 200 pcs

For low-volume orders with complex colors, puff DTF beats screen print because there is no screen setup. At higher volumes, puff screen print wins on per-piece price for spot-color art.

PNG at 300 dpi at print size with a transparent background is ideal. AI or PDF vector files also work. Avoid JPGs (the white background prints as a square block).

How durable is puff DTF in the wash?

50+ wash cycles when washed cold or warm, inside-out, tumble-dried on low. Same wash care as puff screen print. High-heat drying accelerates color fade and edge lift.
