Puff Screen Printing Heat Transfers
Plastisol-based puff prints on release sheets, designed for bulk apparel runs. Sharp raised edges, a soft hand after wash, and the lowest per-piece cost in the puff family. This is the workhorse process behind most of the puff orders shipping out of our factory.

Why puff screen printing wins on large volume orders.
- Volume pricing. Delivers the lowest per-piece cost in the puff family for runs of 100 pieces or more.
- Consistent lift. Maintains a sharp, reliable 1.5 to 2 mm raised edge across the entire bulk run.
- Spot-color clarity. Excels at rendering one to four solid colors with precise registration.
- Global scalability. Allows brands to ship the same artwork to multiple regions for local decoration.
- Reliable wash. Survives 50+ wash cycles on cotton and fleece without losing its soft hand.

Limitations of puff screen print.
-
Solid spot colors only
Plastisol puff cannot reproduce halftones or gradients smoothly. Also, each spot color requires a separate screen setup. For gradients or designs with many colors, choose puff DTF instead.
-
Avoid high-flex zones on stretch fabric
The rigid plastisol resin can crack under repeated 30%+ elongation. For lycra, spandex, or compression gear use stretch puff instead.
Frequently asked questions.
How is puff screen print different from 3D puff?
Both rise off the fabric. Puff screen print lifts 1.5 to 2 mm with sharper edges and a lower cost. 3D puff pushes to 2.5 to 3 mm for hero logos that need to be seen across a room.
How many colors can the design have?
One to four spot colors is the sweet spot. Each color is a separate screen. If the design has gradients or more than four colors, look at puff DTF transfers.
Will the print crack after a few washes?
Properly cured plastisol puff lasts 50+ wash cycles when washed cold or warm, inside-out, tumble-dried on low. Cracking usually means an under-press at application, not a worn-out print.
What artwork formats do you accept?
Vector AI or PDF is preferred. High-resolution PNG (300 dpi at print size) is accepted for raster designs.
What is the minimum order quantity?
500 pieces per design. Screen setup is the same effort for 100 or 1,000 pieces, so 500 is the volume at which the per-piece cost makes sense for both sides.
What is the lead time after artwork approval?
7 to 10 business days for production. We prioritize quality over speed to ensure a consistent puff raise across your bulk run.
