Benefits of puff heat transfer.

What makes puff heat transfers different from flat prints, and where they earn their keep.

  • 01

    Pronounced raised texture

Strong 3D visual interest and depth. The lift shows up clearly in photos and even more so in hand.

  • 02

    Excellent hand feel

Soft, springy, marshmallow-like to the touch. Not stiff, not plasticky.

  • 03

    Premium, upscale look

Adds perceived value. A go-to for brands that want their logo to look considered, not stuck on.

  • 04

    Wide fabric compatibility

Works across cotton, polyester, blends, fleece, lycra, and spandex with the right grade.

  • 05

    Loved on childrenswear, bags, accessories

The raised, friendly texture is especially suited to kids tees, backpacks, hats, and home decor.

  • 06

    Combines with other processes

Pair with foil, glitter, metallic, or full-color DTF on the same design for hybrid effects.

Limitations of puff transfer.

Puff is not a universal solution. Two things to know before you commit.

  • 01

    Less abrasion resistant

The foamed layer has a microporous, fluffy structure, so hard rubbing or aggressive washing can damage it more easily than a flat print. For garments that take heavy abrasion (workwear cuffs, gym-bag straps), pair with a flat process or choose a lower raise height.

  • 02

    Wash with care

Turn the garment inside out and wash inside a laundry bag in cold water on a gentle cycle. Avoid long soaking and high-temperature tumble drying. With this routine, our puff transfers reliably pass 50+ home wash cycles.

FAQs about puff heat transfer.

Answers to the questions most buyers have before their first order.

What fabrics can puff transfers be applied to?

Cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, fleece, cotton-spandex, lycra, spandex, and swim fabric. Stretchy fabrics (lycra, spandex, swimwear) require our stretch puff grade for crack-free performance.

How do I apply puff transfers?

Heat press at 150 to 160 °C, 12 to 15 seconds, medium pressure. Peel hot. Detailed application sheets ship with every bulk order.

What is the MOQ?

500 pieces per design. The same MOQ applies to every puff variant we make.

Do you offer free samples?

Yes. We ship pre-made puff sample swatches free. Custom samples of your own artwork are produced for a small sampling fee, refundable against the first bulk order. Shipping is paid by the buyer.

What is the typical lead time?

7 to 10 business days from artwork approval for bulk orders, plus shipping. Sampling takes around 4 days.

What artwork formats do you accept?

Vector AI or PDF only. Raster files (JPG, PNG) cannot be used directly for puff production. If you only have raster art, we can quote a redraw service.
